On May 15, 2023, at Makka Bar in Skopje, in the presence of members of the LGBTI+ community and supporters, representatives from the civil sector, parliament, domestic and international institutions, the diplomatic corps, and other guests, we marked the 10th anniversary of the Association for Sexual and Gender Minorities QUEER CENTER Skopje (formerly known as the “Subversive Front”). The Skopje Queer Center is the only specialized counseling center in the country for LGBTI+ individuals and their families, and within the organization operates the National Helpline for anonymous and confidential counseling for LGBTI+ individuals, parents, caregivers, and professional teams.

During the anniversary celebration, we honored Maja Morachanin, a member of the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia and coordinator of the inter-party parliamentary group for the advancement of the rights of LGBTI+ people, for her continuous significant contribution to advocating for equal rights for LGBTI+ individuals in the Republic of North Macedonia.
